    That look of disgust . . .

Not really. Our club screens members and ROs for idiots and jerks. Many members actually shoot and share revolvers.

    Opinion on Ruger Security Six?

A Ruger revolver is like a homely wife who can cook, keep house and raise the kids to be good citizens. A Smith&Wesson revolver is like a trophy wife who can almost do the same things. Because my problem is I cannot choose between the two, I have and love both brands. Problem solved.

Model 581 (no dash) Pawn Shop Rescue

Nice 581....lots of character revealed in blueing wear. However, the cylinder notches look quite fresh and very sharp. I think your 581 was shot very little. Good find.

    Opinion on Ruger Security Six?

I got a 6 inch Stainless Sec Six. We're not allowed anything less than 106 mm barrelled handguns. If I were and the same opportunity to buy a SSS with any bbl 4 inches or less at 300 bucks, its a no-brainer.... BUY!

    617???

The primary purpose of my 17-3 is to maintain my DA revolver shooting, economically and effectively. It excels in that job. If you want to use a .22 semi-auto to practice for your centerfire pistols, that is fine. But get one with controls laid out similar to your centerfires, or get the .22...

    opinions on the s&w model 617 .22

IMHO, every shooter must have at least 617/17. To learn on, to maintain one's handgunning skills with. My 17-3 is the least expensive handgun of all my toys, but it has helped my pistol shooting skills the most. The shop had to keep it in the dunk tank more than a day to loosen up the action...

    A question for bullet casters

I estimate that it takes me 4.5 to 5 hours to cast 1,000 .45acp bullets (Lee .451 230 grain TC TL 6-cavity mold) from raw clip-on wheel weights, meaning straight from the tire shop so to speak. This includes setting up my Lee 20lb bottom pour pot, mold, bucket of water, table etc. and putting...

    The Everything Gun

686-3, 6 shot with 6 inch barrel, red dot scope on Aimtech mount. If hunting were not in the parameters, I'd go with a 4 inch barrel. The dot scope is a personal necessity if I want to hit anything farther than 15 meters. This revolver is one of two that I probably would never want to sell...

Glad to be here, gentlemen. Long-time Smith and Wesson lover and proud daddy of a 586 no dash, 686-3 and 17-3 all with 6 inch barrels because of firearms regulations.
