    Model 610-3 Firing Pin

It works fine. Just hadn’t seen one like that before and didn’t know if something was missing. Thanks though.

    Performance Center 637?

Other than the grips/price, can anyone tell me the difference between the standard 637 and the Performance Center 637? Thanks, Eugene

    686 spitting at my face

What kind of ammo? I’ve had plated hand-loads spit particles (metal and powder) at me, but never jacketed rounds. It usually happens at an indoor range and the particles are bouncing off of the walls on eac side of the booth.

    Model 610-3 Firing Pin

Apparently it is normal. I just found a review of the model 610 in Guns & Ammo that showed a picture of the backside of the firing pin. The backside is hollow in the center. Found an article on Brian Enos’s site stating something about it supposedly being designed by Jerry Miculek.

    Model 610-3 Firing Pin

I was cleaning my 610-3 when I noticed the side of the firing pin, which is struck by the hammer, is hollow in the middle. All of my other S&W revolvers have solid firing pins. Is this normal? I can’t find any pics of any other 610 firing pins to confirm.

    M500 Scope mount.

    Strange gas key wear.

I use grease on the BCG except for the rings and bearing surface of the bolt. I run them very wet. Grease/oil is cheap.

    Strange gas key wear.

I’ll have to check my older sons bcg. They both have the sport II’s. Thought about installing Nitride bcg’s in their rifles and keeping these for spares. I know it wouldn’t hurt their feelings. My Sig 516 shows no wear like this.

    Strange gas key wear.

Figured. Just thought I would hit up the knowledge here first before I went through that process. At least this deals with the upper and won’t have to worry about the FFL part of it all.

    Strange gas key wear.

I bought a optic ready version of a M&P 15 and after about 150 rounds, one side of the gas key in the front is shiny and the opposite rear side shows the same kind of wear. Is it possible the gas key was improperly installed by S&W or something is amiss inside the upper? Seems like the gas key...
