Even plated (punch) or copper washed (mini mag) .22 lr bullets have a wax or lube coating which can affect feeding. I wipe this coating off the rounds I carry for self defense to improve cycling. It won’t solve duds of course. I leave the wax on for practice but clean the buildup on my lcp2...

I use a uniquetek hbwc powder funnel/expander which expands cases the length of the bullet and makes seating a bit more repeatable. Annealing can make the spring back less of an issue on range brass and nickel plated brass.
