I have had my Glock for about 3 years. That being said, I had my annual qualification for on and off-duty. First time out even touching a full-sized M&P, I shot a 99. Next came the Glock. I only got a 90. Of course I used different ammo for the Glock, but I just found the M&P to be a superb...
No backup gun, so a non-firing weapon in an inmate's hands makes me a little more sense. Hopefully I would still have my baton and he would have a cracked skull.
It's what I have to get to use it on-duty. I can get one without it, but I would be restricted to off-duty only.
Either way, I think I am going today to order one.
Being a CO, there is unfortunately, no such thing as a backup gun.
