    DOB for 18-3?

S&W 18-3. Just wondering when she was born. I KNOW she's worth more than I paid 8-) Lent my copy of the Catalog out, and now this crossed my path. Thanks!

    S&W 547: any issues?

3" round. That's the other thing: I love 3" K-Frames. I only got to run two cylinders through, but I was easily able to carve out the bullseye at 30". Recoil feels like a stout .38. This is going to be expensive Thanks for the advice!

    S&W 547: any issues?

OK, I'm not even going to try and justify this one. I shot one, I love it, now I want one. My only concern is with the cartridge itself. Modern 9mm loadings run at similar chamber pressures to the 110/125gr .357 loadings that we've all been warned not to shoot extensively through K-Frames...

Model 10s Are Fun! New Years Picture Thread

10-5, 1967. Absolutely nothing unique about it, but I love shooting it. I usually prefer target sights, but there's no arguing with this:

Why did you choose a revolver over a semi auto for carry?

I came back to revolvers after 20 years. I was raised on rifles, and handguns were considered to be last-ditch, close range guns. Little credit was given to accuracy. Though I did train with revolvers, the two specimens I used were a Nagant and (IIRC) a H&R. So, when I started carrying a gun...

What gun is your nightstand gun?

S&W Model 66 on the nightstand, backed up by a Marlin 1894 in .357. The deadly trio acts as my early warning system:

I ended up going the custom route. This is a design from Tom Dyer of Saguaro Gunleather.

    Wood for an I-Frame?

Indeed. It is the responsibility of every American to know the Jet Jaguar theme song.

    Wood for an I-Frame?

Factory re-nickeled, and I certainly plan on shooting it. Mostly looking for something that fills out the hand better and is more durable than the factory plastic.

    Wood for an I-Frame?

Does anyone out there do custom stocks for S&W I-Frames? Just came across a .32 Hand Ejector that needs something spiffier than the black plastic.

Off duty wheel gun raises eyebrows.....

Don't worry; some of us still push them on our new students One of my favorite pastimes is demonstrating, particularly to the under-40 crowd, that revolvers can shoot just as quickly and accurately as autoloaders. I was taught as a child by an uncle who'd been Hungarian resistance. His...
