A SHOUT-OUT TO SMITH AND WESSON REPAIR SERVICE

I don't know the round count. I retired 25 years ago and the only hobby I had at the time was to get up every morning that the weather allowed and shoot 50 rounds or so just for fun. I've melted a lot of lead and poured a lot of bullets. Components were relatively cheap back then. It has had...

A SHOUT-OUT TO SMITH AND WESSON REPAIR SERVICE

I was treated well, am happy as a hog, now if this old man with poor eyes and arthritis in both hands could just learn to shoot again. Man, you can sure loose a lot by just laying off for a couple of months. On the bright side, look at how many high priced primers I saved.

A SHOUT-OUT TO SMITH AND WESSON REPAIR SERVICE

In February my 686-4 trigger quit resetting. I had bought it new in 1997, an email to S&W and I received a pre-paid mailing label along with instructions to FEDX it to Springfield, Mass. They let me know when the received it and who signed for it. Now if you send one in don't get in a hurry...

    Reduced 357 Loads.

Has anyone tried 6 grains Universal? I was gifted a pound of this powder and have never used it before. Rex

    Universal powder

I've been gifted a pound of Universal powder, does anyone make a +P 38 special load with this stuff? To be shot in a S&W 686.

Would a 686-4 had wood grips when new

My 686-4 with 4" barrel came with round butt and rubber stocks. It is back at S&W right now because the trigger stopped resetting as it should. I removed the rubber grips and installed Miculek wood grips, (or however you spell it). Rex

Can you find someone nearby that you trust to reload some for you?

    primers

Shooting is becoming a Rich Man's sport. I'm too old to keep up and hate to drop out but feel I'm being forced to.

Loading data from 1970 Speer manual?

I still use their 6 grains Unique load in a .38 Special case. My gun and I both like it, of course my revolver is a 686 L frame.

    Reloader Back?

Maybe your back just wasn't used to having primers.

My local Bi Mart had primers!

Good for you! It is coming.

    357mag loads

I load SRPs with 6 grains Unique in .357 brass with a 358477 150 grain bullet. Shoots real nice, just over 1000fps in my 4" 686.

    686-4 Silhouette - Polished

That looks really nice. I have a 4" 686-4 that S&W did their laser engraving on and as I have small hands I put a set of Miculek grips on it. Mine isn't as pretty as yours but shoots great.

    358156 bullet

When you lube this bullet to be loaded "short", do you lube the bottom bottom crimp groove or just the lube groove?
