    You were smart to get it and that's a great price. I got one NIB two or three years ago with the original box and papers and paid a small fortune for it but I'm happy. Three inch barrel 66's are very rare.

    Model 637 or Model 60 ?

    A Model 60 with a three inch barrel might be a good option. If you put Pachmayr rubber grips on it that will help with grip and recoil. My ex-wife was deadly with her Model 60.

    CS-1 in 3" barrel or 4" barrel; 3" more desirable. M66 with 3" barrel. Model 547 (9mm) in 3" barrel or 4" barrel; 3" more desirable.

    1006 questions

    I have a 1076 which is an ex-FBI gun. I talked to a retired FBI agent who carried a 1076 until they made him turn it in. He claimed to have lots of experience with the 1076. He said to avoid the magazines with the yellow followers. He said they caused problems but did not specify what kind.

    Ray: I don't think they do. You can occasionally pick some up on Gunbroker. I have a few boxes and plan to keep them.

    Blade59 this is Echo59-Commerce (retired 1811). I have S&W Model 1076 Serial Number TFK6067! I am thinking that mine was in the same batch as yours. My S&W letter states that mine was shipped to Quantico on 11-4-90; returned from the Bureau on 06-03-92 and sold as a used pistol on 02-28-94...
