Thanks for all the input. The mark on the barrel is a flash effect there are no marks other than very slight wear. RH side looks as good as the LH shown. I do remember my father saying that this was a very early one and valuable but I was not aware that it was worth what you all are saying...

Just joined the forum. A friend in Kansas suggested that I come on in the water is fine. I am not a very good Pistol shot but do OK with a long gun. It is rather hard to carry one of those when you go shopping though!:D
