Thanks for all of the replys. I will write Roy Jinks and ask if there has been a mistake. I want to especially thank n4zov for finding me the history of the Fellsmere Suger Co. Its is rare to find revolvers that letters back to Florida, because most of the old revolvers were brought down here by...

Letter of authenticity - missed the cut!

I happy that they are rising the price so people will stop lettering every Smith they own especially military revolvers and normal revolvers made after the seventies. But I think they have a lot of balls returning checks. Bad Business.

Trying to determine value on pre-27 6" .357

I would think that it is worth at least $400. They do not make shooter five screws anymore. Please post your pictures of $200-$300 shooter five screw N frames that you have bought recently. Bob

Link to Roy Jinks & S&W

I would send for all the letters you need now before the price changes. It is a bad business practice to return checks, I do not believe that it will happen. The price is the price until they announce it, they would be wrong to return checks before they change the price.

Thanks for all of the replies the serial number is marked on the butt as 10X. I will post better pictures of the revolver on Monday so you can see the markings. How tall are the grips on a Baby Chief compared to regular Chiefs Special? Thanks Bob

Pick up super early pre 36 Chiefs Special new photos

Thanks s&wchad for the info I will start looking for the grips, and I plan on sending for a letter. It is the earliest serial number that I have ever owned, and for $275 OTD I think that I did fine. Thanks Bob

Pick up super early pre 36 Chiefs Special new photos

Picked up early Chiefs Special serial number 10x at one of pawn shops close to where I live. Barrel, Frame, and Cylinder all match and it has about 90% of it's original finish. It has the half moon front sight and a normal not flat latch which I have read was correct for the very early pre 36s...

    Kearsarge question

Thanks kwill1911, for posting that ad it answers one of my questions which was whether it was common to have the owners initials carved in the design. The pair of grips that I recently bought have initials on one side which was one of the features of Kearsarge grips according to the ad. Thanks

Help please, Roper grip info *More PICS added* 10/25

I have several pairs of Ropers on pre-war Colt Officer Model Target heavy barrel revolvers. The reason I think you see more Ropers on Colts is that in the mid 30's the Colt Officer heavy barrel revolver was thought of as the premier target revolver. If you look in the old American Riflemen...
