That is a trick of the camera/flash. You are right, it looks like holster ware in the picture, but in person there is no ware there.

Kenny at Speed Shooters did not mention the part number, but the (ambi) thumb safety he sent was the correct one for the M&P 9C :D. It was $12 shipped. I think that one works on the 40 cal too.
