I use a piece of a cotton t shirt and just a tiny dab of the polish. Work on only a small area of the gun at a time. Light pressure. Wipe off and polish with micro fiber cloth turning often. Repeat a necessary. With light pressure you can hit the same area multiple times without any real fear of...
I also used Mothers on a pretty nasty 19 and it cleaned up well. I think it has about the least amount of abrasive material of any of the polishes out there. Flitz is also good but I think Mothers is the best, especially for nickel.
I love the longer barrel guns, even out to 10" but they are really best for range target shooting. For hunting I will agree with most that 6" is the sweet spot between sight radius and ease of carry and shooting without a rest. The 6" balances far better than the 8"+. I keep telling myself I...
pretty cool. you gotta wonder how this happens and when it does, how many are churned out. I dont know the process for barrel stamping and cutting. Is a long piece of barrel stamped every 4, 6, or 8.375" and then cut? or are they cut and then stamped? If the former you would think that there...
I have a standing order for the new MG in .357, .45c, and .22lr. So far it’s unfilled. My gun peddler says he’s hounding his rep regularly but he may just be too small time and not have the juice to get allocated stuff. I may need to cast a wider net.
I got an email from him yesterday asking if I shopped on Amazon. It appears to have come from his hollypaw1 address. What is going on? I have gotten a S&W related email from don previously.
If they’re like the earlier announced versions they are vaporware. You cannot get them. Until I see one I can actual buy at or below MSRP I think it’s S&W / Lipsey playing games.
If you can find one. I’ve been looking for a .357 MG since they were announced and have yet had the opportunity to actually see one, not less purchase one. I’m beginning to wonder if S&W / Lipsey are just playing games.
I’ve been using the 12 packs of microfiber clothes from china freight. They seem soft and do a good job when I polish guns or stocks. I shoukd look to see what they are made of. When on sale they’re like $4 for 12.
I’ve been considering picking up one of the 2 tone moss green ones. I dig the look of the rails it comes with. I want to install a light and green laser on it. It woukd make a heck of a night stand gun.
Eta: that’s what I love about this place. Learn something new everyday. J frames aren’t even on my radar, hence my ignorance. I figured the guns in the picture were K frames. My apologies.
I wouldn’t have paid $100 for them since you asked. Definitely do not believe they are factory.
