Spyderco knives - did a bit of research this morning and learned quite a bit!

I carried a serrated police version for years and treated it horribly, doing things like sawing through baling wire and thin sheet metal, or using it as a prybar, besides all the rubber hose, cardboard, paper and everything else that I needed to cut. Finally, the blade was looking too rough for...

    Ralph Bone knives question

My father was a personal friend and customer of the knife maker and engraver Ralph Bone. Sadly, I now have all of the custom items my father had him do. I'm good at taking care of firearms, know all about that. Knives, however, were never something that interested me beyond pocket carry to...

    1917 SAVAGE 380 HELP NEEDED

Definitely a 1917. I seem to recall the only variations have to do with how the barrel was cut, the rest is the same and doesn't have much affect on the value. If that is factory nickel plated, it is extremely rare and very valuable - double the price of a normal one or more. Also, that one...

    Uberti Old Model Cattleman

Does that have the transfer bar or whatever the safety is that some of them come with? Been looking for a new Colt clone so I don't put too much wear on my only real Colt, and that is a good looking revolver.

    Prayer request from soFlaNative

I hope Miss Joyce's recovery and rehab goes well, and that Brad takes care of himself as well. Such times can be hard on both.

Do Gunpowder and Alcohol Mix? Opinion Survey

I have my own land and a well appointed range that I welcome friends, and their friends, to shoot, camp, and hunt with me there. I don't allow alcohol consumption while shooting. After everyone is done shooting and we have started the bbq, then sure, they bring out the alcohol. I don't want...

    WWII Japanese weapons cache discovered

My grandfather was in occupied Japan and he would tell of all the stuff getting dumped overboard. He was a captain and had a translator, so he told the translator to pick a good sword out from the pile as a souvenir. We still have it, along with some other bring backs. I don't know if the...

    Silencerco suppressors

I said don't overwhelm yourself, not be ignorant. I have friends that waited literally years before they bought a can, then complained afterwards that they didn't buy one sooner.

    Silencerco suppressors

My advice is two-fold - stay away from aluminum, even for just .22, and don't think that you are just going to buy one and have it as a do-all... No one that I know who bought "just one can" actually held to it. They tend to multiply. I have a Dead Air Mask and a Silencerco Spectre II - both a...

    Been researching pickups

This is very true. I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins that we bought new and still drive and pull with it. It rides like a log wagon, terrorize you with it's steering, barely has enough power to get around itself and will make you deaf from engine and wind noise.. All my buddies have late model...

    Old friends

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, may he rest in peace. Says a lot about you and him to have a friendship for that long, that is something special. I hope you are taking care of yourself as well, that is a terrible thing to deal with.

Show Us Pics of Your Single Shot Rifles

Very nice! I do like a quality single shot target .22. Excited to see the Martini, I have a couple of BSA Internationals that I enjoy shooting.

Price check on 6 inch 4th Model DA in .32 S&W

Here is the only thing I see an issue with - the sideplate doesn't fit all that great. I know nothing about these older guns, so maybe this is more common than I know. The sideplate sits ever so slightly higher than the frame. A thousandth or less, but if run you fingernail across it, the...

Price check on 6 inch 4th Model DA in .32 S&W

Looks sharp across the whole thing. Nickel is so dang hard to photograph, especially on a cell phone, so this is the best I could do, can't get the whole stamping in focus. If it was a refinish job, whoever did it had knowledge, experience and a gentle touch, as it doesn't show the normal...

Price check on 6 inch 4th Model DA in .32 S&W

It was cheap enough to me, though more than what most here would pay. I wanted a shooter and this is perfect for that. I'd love to have a nice original like Glowe's, but I don't think I be willing to shoot it very much if it was.
