Woman Kills Home Intruder, Now Media Outraged at Her!

Did he attempt to attack her while she was holding a gun on him? There could have been a reason for her to shoot other than the breaking and entering thing. More info is needed before forming an opinion on the situation. It would be wrong to expect a woman that age to wait until he laid hands...

Another minor issue with SW22 Victory

You have a steel screw in a stainless steel hole, so a less noble metal (iron wire) should not hurt. It would be the sacrificial member, but bronze wool would also serve to fill the gaps between the threads if you were concerned. Worth a try if you have a screw which continues to work itself...

    S&W Victory sw22

Did he send the RMA? What more could he do to sound interested in your problem other than offer to repair it? Being disappointed with buying a pistol with problems is understandable, but bad mouthing someone who is offering to fix it is not too upstanding. Hope it comes back in excellent...

    SW22 Victory, optics?

Peoples eyes vary, so just telling someone to get a proper pair of glasses may not really help them see as well as they would like. I have worn trifocal glasses for many years as the eyes do not do a good job of focusing at different distances. Glasses which afford a clear view of the front...

    S&W Victory sw22

Not dry firing a .22 is easily understood, but some always want to argue that it does not hurt anything. There are enough pictures of damaged chamber faces floating around to impress this fact on anyone who really does not understand this. There are guns with perfect tolerances which stop the...

    SW22 Victory, optics?

A red dot sight was my salvation until the cataracts were removed. If you need one, you will enjoy it. It is much nicer to shoot when you have an improved ability to hit what you are shooting at. Otherwise you are just throwing bullets away.

Is Smith and Wesson still improving products?

None of us knows what the target QC is at Smith or where they stack up. I tend to judge a company more on what they do when something slips through QC. If they went back to hand fitted parts, it would affect the price of a gun. In the old days, hand labor was the rule as modern tooling had...

Is Smith and Wesson still improving products?

I purchased a new 66 and it certainly has advantages over its predecessors. The use of MIM is a move forward from the old parts also. I would not question the fact that manufacturing and design has improved over the years.

Another minor issue with SW22 Victory

You lose the ability to torque a screw if it is locked with a secondary screw. Don't know if the Germans were the first to lock a screw with a screw as it has been widely used. Torqueing and Loctite is a vastly superior method and an industry standard.

    71 Years Ago today

Dad's cousin went to all those tropical islands with the Fourth Division and saw the original flag raised on Iwo. After the war he came home and farmed as he wanted a simple life. He was our adopted uncle and no one had a better man for an uncle. He did not like the Marines for sending him...

    No revolvers wanted!

I do not believe anyone should select another persons gun. The differences in revolvers and pistols is such that only the user can determine which is best for them. As noted in the posts above, some factors are more important to some users than others. If someone only familiar with one design...

    No revolvers wanted!

7shooter, we are in full agreement that people should be taught to handle both designs. My wife is in better shape than I am and actually stronger. However, arthritis has limited her hand strength over the years. She does not realize it, but she is a better shot than I am due to vision and...

    No revolvers wanted!

What problem with semis? The problem as I understand it was that a certain group does not understand revolvers and does not want to recognize them. I will use my wife for one woman's perspective. She shoots the bull out of a target at 25 yards with a 9mm Ruger or Buckmark, but arthritis...

Apparent design flaw on the SW22 Victory.

Well if people still want to do fasteners like they were done in the past, they can. Just use lock washers which hold by digging into the fastener and tapped hole surface to maintain a mechanical bond. The problem arises when the fastener is removed and reinstalled enough times to mess up the...

New SW22 Victory 22LR target pistol?

After watching all the fanfare on the introduction of this pistol, I would purchase one if there were any more stalls in my .22 stable. If my grandson were into handguns, one would make a fine present. Bought his father a Ruger Mk 2 tapered target years ago which he enjoys. We got into...
