    What also does work is 2-stroke oil. I rubbed each bullet with a cloth with 2-stroke oil, and now the residue is kept so soft it´s no problem seating or ejecting the rounds. It also helps cleaning the chambers.

    Hi. I have one model 617 with a wedge-shaped firing pin, and a newer one with the round type. Both are frame mounted. I have heard that the new type is the wedge-shaped one, so I guess it has been replaced on the older one. It also has a bushing with an internal "rail" to keep the firing pin...

    I got a mail from S&W saying that the twist is 1:15.

    I would expect that, but I have heard that all S&W revolvers use 18 3/4 twist, also in 22 lr.
