S&W 2.0 10mm Red dot flew off and hit me in the head

Did you use the S&W plastic plate or an aftermarket plate on the 10s? I used the S&W plastic plate on my 10MM with a 507K. I have less than 100 rounds through it and everything is still tight but I am not impressed with the quality. After reading about the problems others are having I ordered...

    Do you reload?

Wow! My experience is similar. I started in 1963. I had a Pacific C Press and then a Rock Chucker. I also had a Star progressive which I sold to buy a 550B. Now I have 3 Square Deal B's, the Rock Chucker, and the 550 B. All get used frequently.

    40/10mm ruminations

The S&W 10MM is about the size of a 19. I just bought one. I only have a few rounds through it. So far no problems but it will take a lot more rounds to wring it out. It is much smaller and lighter than my other 10s which for me is a big plus if I want to carry it. If it is reliable that will...

Patridge front sight on a 686

We bought 12 six inch 586s when they first came out. Mine came with a red ramp and the sight was part of the barrel.....no pins. My buddy's had a patridge sight.

    Model 63 Front Sight Question

Thanks guys! I just saw one at the LGS with a pinned front FO site and that's why I asked. I don't remember the older 63's being pinned.

Small Rifle Primers in Pistol Cartridges

I think we might need a test of pistol primers in long gun ammo. I can see two possible issues. Are they hot enough for reliable ignition and is the primer cap thick enough to prevent puncture.

Small Rifle Primers in Pistol Cartridges

There is a difference but it depends on the manufacturer. I think primers made in the US are less likely to be a problem. Primers made in other countries can be a problem. Recently I had a few hundred rounds of Egyptian Military 9mm ammo. It was manufactured for sub guns. It would not fire in a...

    No rifling in a 64-6
