I'm a Detective Special and Cobra Man myself. Just big enough to shoot better than any J Frame, but smaller than any K Frame for conceal carry. These days both are in the safe and I carry a Glock 43 in a pocket holster as rationally it makes more sense. Kind of sad though.
I prefer the Galco ******* Shoulder Holster to the Miami Classic. As a matter of fact Don Johnson wore the ******* and not the Miami Classic which I suspect was just named that to capitalize on Miami Vice. The strap on the holster on the bottom rear pulls the pistol in tighter on the *******...
I have both and would pick the 4506 as being best due to better trigger, better grip shape and the trigger guard being slightly undercut so the pistol sets lower in hand. Mine is an early so the sights are a wash for me.
If it doesn't come with a flat bottom firing pin stop that will be easy to add later to help slow down unlocking and slide speed. Got to admit that I'm interested.
I certainly like the grip of the metal CZs' over the Beretta 92. I find I can close my hand more like a fist for a tighter grip and therefore trigger control.
Yes, I was watching an episode Adam 12 yesterday in a season they carried the Model 14 or K-38 as I prefer to call them. I need to get one to match my K-22.
Of course buy both since S&W isn't supporting their wonderful 3rd Generation Auto Pistols you'll likely need at least one more for parts or better yet buy three models as Clint Smith says "Two is one.":)
I have gotten use to shooting Blocks, but still don't like them mostly due to grip angle and hump on the 17, to short of a grip on the 19, and mussy triggers on both so if the new CZ P10C out does the Gock then I will be getting one.
My favorite DA/SA .45 Auto. Size and weight is similar to a Lightweight Commander although thicker than a 1911, yet seems to recoil less than the Lightweight Commander, more reliable in the early versions, and more accurate than most out of the box 1911s'. Have several that I carry.
I don't know if S&W would do it, but this video might help you out. I have used sloth bright pads from the grocery store to remove light scratches and light surface rust from stainless pistols.
