    Let's talk slings

I use Urban ET Slings on both my M&P 15 and my Benelli Super Nova Tactical. They are a modular sling that can be converted from a 2 point to a 1 point very quickly and easily. Being modular you can use what ever attachment points you need and change them very easily. So you could use 1 sling for...

    First day with Shield 40

Could it be that with the 6 round mag being shorter that you grip the gun just a little higher and are under recoil accidentaly activating the slide lock. And with the 7 round mag being longer your grip is just a little lower that you don't activate the slide lock.

Anyone interested in Truglo TFO's for Shield?

I have the TFO's FS ones with the rear sides ground down just little so they don't hang over. The edges on top of the rear sight are a little pointy (sharp) for pocket carry (they catch a little), but not bad enough to not pocket carry. I still like them better than the originals. Ones that fit...

    Tritium sights for Shield

The TruGlows fit on the Shield also. I have them on mine and I have seen others with them on too. They are just a little wide on the rear sight. But work well.

    Yes. Very right.

best overall 9mm SD ammo choice

Frangible bullets were used in warfare so to do the maximum amount of injury (not killing or knock down power) to a person. If you injure a person enough it takes way more people to take care of him (using up available man power) than it does for someone dead. Frangible bullets have less ability...

best overall 9mm SD ammo choice

Everything in the whole picture matters at one time or another. Being proficient in the gun you carry (bringing it to your target in time and bullet placement) and the ammo you carry. All CAN matter in the final outcome. The right bullet not placed right doesn't help, and the wrong bullet placed...

Switching over to warm weather carry...

I now carry my Shield .40 with Crimson Trace laser every day in the concealed right pocket of my Blackhawk pants and Blackhawk shorts. Also carry an extra mag too. Works for both cold and warm weather carry.

best overall 9mm SD ammo choice

According to the description of a frangible bullet: "A frangible bullet is one that is designed to disintegrate into tiny particles upon impact to minimize their penetration." This is not good for SD. You want a bullet to expand fully and retain all of its mass but not penetrate through. That is...

best overall 9mm SD ammo choice

I agree with rwsmith and disagree with dullh. As a hunter (which I am) I would want the same or close to the same bullet fo SD as hunting. As a hunter you DO NOT want a bullet passing thru the deer (that only applies for bow hunting, which relies on tracking a shot deer. Arrows do not have the...

    M&P9 Shield Barrel

Just called S&W for a 9mm Shield barrel and they said they do not sell just the barrels. He said you have to send the gun into them so they can fit it and make sure everything is ok. Sounds like they have caught onto the .40 to 9mm barrel drop in conversions people are doing.

    Light/Laser

I have also just bought the TrueGlow Tfo sights in green/green for my M&P FS 9mm but have yet to install them. Can't wait to try them out.

    Light/Laser

I have a M&P FS 9mm bought new with the Crimson Trace LaserGrips #LG-660 (does not fit ambidextrious safety models, althought the right side safety could be cut off), and added the Crimson Trace LightGuard #LTG-760. Like them both on the gun. Both have master on-off switches and instinctive...
