I was asking about contemporary and for a revolver. I have seen a few for sale with scopes included, and the sellers raise the price (total), but I may not need or want the scope on it. In one case I asked the seler if he would sell the gun without it. He said yes, but the price wouldn't change...

How do I know what a used scope is worth (compared to new retail) if I can't inspect in person? Obviously external signs of wear or abuse would detract, but other than that, what should one check? Do certain make /model scopes hold value better (are preferred) over others? I'm asking in regards...
