    Well, that is true. However, your would have to carry a tool to remove the stock panel for your theory to make sense. Why not just carry the compass?

    38 Special, 4" barrel, S#467329. Serial # found on butt, back of cylinder, underside of barrel and inside right grip. "P" proof top left frame, back of cylinder, underside of barrel. Ordinance bomb toe of butt preceeding serial number.
