    HS-6 in .40 S&W with 165 lead projectiles

I agree, but there is no starting data for cast 165 grain so I had to start somewhere, it appears I started to hot for this one I think I will drop it to 7.0 grains which should be much better.

    primers

Your welcome. I have a few cases where the primer isn't as tight but since I have used the nail polish no blow outs. but the real tight ones you can really feel the pop when decapping, so I do think it helps some.

    primers

I live on the coast so its almost always high humidity here and I tried the nail polish and so far I havent had any problems with my rounds, I have fired about 200 rounds out of .300, 5.56 and .40 S &W with the polish on the primers. I swipe the primer with the cheap nail polish then use a paper...

    primers

I clean and prep all my brass and even load the primers and seal the primers with nail polish after each range visit but I dont load them until I need them, as long as you mark the bags what primers are in them and I mark how many times fired since annealing to keep track. but then I only use...

    HS-6 in .40 S&W with 165 lead projectiles

I hand loaded some .40 with 7.6 grains of HS-6 using 165 lead projectiles. I cant crono pistol rounds but I did notice after shooting 100 rounds I found some lead slivers in the barrel and some interesting wear marks. The guys at the range thought I was shooting a 45 lol I think I may have the...

    To Re-Load or Not???

that's the chrono I bought after I shot my first optical chrono, The bayonet may drop but you cant shoot it and all you have to do is re tighten the strap I give it 5 thumbs up. BTW the variable speed drill for the annealing was a bust you cant slow it down enough but as hard headed as I am I...

    To Re-Load or Not???

    300 Blackout

I clean mine to :D. Whisper is actually a longer case length 1.40 vs blackouts 1.368 but a good point . It kinda sounds like a bad round with the ammo manufactures pushing to get rounds out the QC may have slipped, it sounds like there was almost no powder in the case and the primer...

    300 Blackout

Thats not normal, it could have been a bad round or the barrel could need cleaned more thoroughly. I fired hand loads the first time in mine and had no problems at all and it just ate the 147 grain M80's. I fired almost 300 rounds the first day and had 0 problems.:D

    To Re-Load or Not???

Thats what I was thinking but wasnt sure and thought I would ask, since I started using the swager I havent had to remove hardly any material.:D

    Sport dust cover/ forward assist

Other then making a nice snap in inspection when I was in the corps I didn't need either feature and to date I still haven't had the need on my sport. The FA was due to the fact when the M-16 first came out( Vietnam era) the ammo was a bit lousy and sometimes (as in a lot) from what my dad told...

    300 Blackout

Be careful tho if you have S & W 300 and blaspheme and say whisper in the forum you will have some real interesting comments about the whisper there. I tried to tell them that ssk and S &W are the only two companies authorized to make whisper chambers and the others arent real whispers. And wham...
