    Saeco/Redding .44 Wadcutter

Thanks! Those are Herrett's Custom stocks in the Roper pattern. Sadly, I just found out they don't make custom stocks anymore. I have three pair, 2 N's and a K, but I'd like a few more.

    Saeco/Redding .44 Wadcutter

Thought I'd try a full wadcutter in my 4" 29-2, so I ordered the Saeco 200-grain .44 wadcutter through MidwayUSA. In a hurry this afternoon, I cast a few dozen and sized them to .430 and seated them on top of 6.0 grains of W231. I'm not a particularly good group shooter, but these showed some...

    M25 and Cylinder Drag

Thanks 6string. I am very willing to give this revolver and steady diet of match-grade ammo. I thought about trimming a few cases a couple thousandths and see if that made a difference. Based on what you're describing I'll bet it does. I'll keep you posted.

    M25 and Cylinder Drag

Primers have all been countersunk, so that's not the issue.

    M25 and Cylinder Drag

I've checked the ejector rod; it's tight. No burrs that I can feel on the firing pin bushing either. I'll try to find a feeler gauge.

    M25 and Cylinder Drag

I recently inherited a 1960 M25 from a dear friend, and am having to sort some things out. My first two cylinders were some 230-grain Speer hardball followed by Federal 45D 230-grain JHP. I was shooting at some 50-yard plates, which they clanged satisfactorily, but I noted that the Speers seemed...

    Elmer Keith--Salmon Idaho

Smithswede, been there myself and took the same photos as you. Really cool and thanks for sharing. I was there in 2002 and actually talked to a few people in town who knew him.

    Accurate 357mag loads

Gunwriter Wiley Clapp used to think so. In fact, I think he even called his load a sweet spot, but I don't recall if he used 2400 or H110. He loaded 140 JHP's at 1300 and reported exceptional accuracy from several .357 revolvers, including a 4" Ruger Gp100. His machine rest groups at 25 yds were...
