    Snap Caps Spark

Good to know...learn something new every day. I figured I was OK, but I wanted to verify.

    Snap Caps Spark

Just curious: I noticed when I dry fire w/ my A-Zoom snap caps (w/ my 442), there are sparks where the pin strikes the caps. It doesn't spark if I dry fire without them. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that pin is hitting the caps wrong? The reason I'm concerned, is that I recently...

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

I think they're new: There was no scratch around the perimeter where the cylinder rotates...not until I dry fired it. Also, there are no powder rings from shooting, where the cylinder holes line up w/ the barrel. The think finish is just proned to scratch and ding. I've noticed small...

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

Good to know. I actually used the old ratchet/star, and the timing appears to be perfect. I'll have no qualms shooting it at the range. I'll report when I do.

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

I just got the Ti cylinder in today. (takes more than 2 weeks to deliver to Texas.) I put it on just like your instructions Capn... easy as pie. Thanks for the help. The feel is completely different, and I like the contrast of the Ti on black...sweet. I've posted the pic's...enjoy. :)

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

Hey Capn, Where did you find the forged parts? What were the Costs? Thanks again, I'll upload pic's when the surgery is complete. Greg

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

Thanks Capn. As soon as I get mine in, I'll be following your instructions. I like the contrast of the titanium with the black finish of the frame. Also, the silver scratch, that runs the perimeter of the black cylinder, drives me nuts. The weight difference will be an added bonus, as I...

    [PICS] Titanium cylinder on 442

Ok, as soon as I saw those pic's, I ordered a ti cylinder for my 442. How hard is it to change? Do I need special tools? I've done the lock removal surgery, and the cylinder swap appears to be less invasive than that. Hopefully a novice, like myself, can do it too. Please fill me in.

    Photo Request

Can anyone post a photo of a 442 (or something similar) with a plug...preferably with the little hole filled in too? The only photos I've seen are larger SS guns. I removed the lock this weekend, and I'm curious how the 442 looks "plugged and filled". I plan on filling the little hole with...

    S & W Bodyguard 38 or 442?

I had the BG 38, and I sold it for a 442. I liked the BG, but the trigger bit my finger between the top of the trigger and the top strap. It created a blister on my trigger finger and eventually drew blood. I could adjust the grip, but it didn't feel natural. I also didn't care for the upper...

    Had to do it

Well, I went to the local gun show this weekend, and I swapped my new Bodyguard 38 for a 442. I've defended the BG38 to the hilt, and I still think it is a fine gun, but I decided to go with the 442 for a few reasons. 1. The BG 38 trigger, although it feels smoother and lighter, it bites the...

    Bodyguard 38 vs. M&P 340

Just curious: An M&P 340 is a scandium 357 vs an aluminum/polymer Bodyguard 38...not really apples to apples. Why aren't you considering a 442 or a BG 38 (more comparable)? Have you ever shot a 357 from a 13 oz snubnose? Sounds painful.

    Bodyguard 38 vs. M&P 340

You'll get all the feedback you want on the Bodyguard 38. It seems to be a polarizing gun...just read some of the threads about it. I own one, and I really like it, but you'll find that many of long time Smith lovers hate it because it's such a departure the traditional line of...

Who else thinks the new bodyguard .38 is horrid looking!!

Most of the frame is aluminum, and if you didn't know that portions of it are polymer, it isn't noticeable. Polymer guns are proven, so it isn't a problem for me. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
