Can't wait to get out and shoot next week. My brother and I set up a little range on my farm couple years ago. Love being able to go out and shoot when I want. Right now we're buying factory ammo. Used to reload though. Still have the reloading stuff, just not time to do it right.

I got the 617 4" and the 686 7 shot with wood grips. Will post pics as soon as I'm able. I'll shoot them next week after cleaning and weather warms.

I just got home from my gun dealer friend's shop. I ordered a 617 4" and a 686 plus with wood grips. Can't remember exact model number for that. Should come in in a few days. Will pick up the 617 first then wait a week for second one a week later. Can't wait, as you can imagine. Bill

Thanks guys. Looks like a 686 for me. Very few nice used S&W revolvers around here ( Delaware ), thats why I'm looking at new. Less hassle.

I'm thinking about two new revolvers to buy with tax refund next month. One will be a 617 four inch for a kit gun. Second will be a .357 six inch barrel. Target gun only. I have a little range set up on my farm. Leaning toward 686. Is that a good choice?
