    45 FS FTF and fire

I got the return slip today and will be packing it up. I really don't know what is up, I am close to a thousand rounds of factory 230gn ball ammo through it, with about 10 failures to feed, that is way too many. The feed ramp is mirror smooth and shiny after that many rounds have slid up it...

    45 FS FTF and fire

Wow, too many shield posts. :D After a couple hundred more rounds with a couple more failures I am calling S&W today to get a postage return slip. I can't trust the pistol to shoot round nose 230 grn factory ammo(WWB, Rem umc target, and aguila have all had ftf) and I'm sure not going to...

    Lee Classic Turret press

The Lee scale is as accurate as any mentioned here, it is somewhat harder and frustrating for some to set and read the vernier scale for setting tenths, though. RCBS 505($75ish, or a Lyman Pro 500($55)with weight added to the base because it is light, are about as cheap as you'll get and still...

    buying reloader

Pretty hard to beat fsreloading, it is a favorite of mine unless I am placing a small order. I see their kit has the pro measure(definitely a good item and recommended over the standard measure.). It has the Lee scale which I am not a fan of though it is as accurate as any beam scale. It is a...

    Lee Micrometer Adjustable Charge Bar

The charge bar is incredibly accurate at around 4 grains and up. You want to use the micro disk in your auto disk measure for very small charges.

    45 FS FTF and fire

Update: I have went through another 150 rounds of the Rem umc target and 100 rounds of Aguila(noticeably hotter stuff) with no issues. I am feeling better about it, I will feel much better after a couple more sessions with no FTFs.

Ammo prices are going up again ??

This is why I got into reloading and stocked up on components months ago.

    Crimping LRN 9mm bullets...

Looks good. :) That rounded profile was what was catching you up. They don't have the classic parabellum profile that can go a lot longer before touching the rifling. Let us know how they shoot.

    Crimping LRN 9mm bullets...

Not a crimp groove. It is a grease/lube groove. Since those are bear creek black bullets(pre-lubed moly coated) pretend they aren't there. Make a dummy round with no powder, start at your beginning O.A.L. saami max length is 1.169 for 9mm. Keep moving in a little at a time until your round...

Which backstrap insert do you use??

I tried them all of course. The medium on my full size 9 and .45 are what I have ended up with. They are not the same, however. The .45 is larger overall, and the distance to the trigger, circumfrence of the grip, are larger. I wish I could make them feel the same, it is not possible though...

    Crimping LRN 9mm bullets...

You don't set bullet resistance with crimp, neck/case tension decides that. A taper crimp just needs to remove the bell you put in with your expander die and a slight amount more so it will feed reliably, depending on the firearm. As you found, no amount of extra crimping will make the bullet...

    New M&P 9 - Shooting Low - Options?

That right there. I was going to change my name to Low & Left at one time. :p Now that I have some trigger control it is no longer the case.

    45 FS FTF and fire

Brand new, dark earth with full trijicon factory night sights. I love the look and it feels great in my hand. I do recall burrs on the rim of some of the ejected brass, maybe I can get someone that knows something to take a look at it. I confess to knowing how to strip the gun and brush it...

    45 FS FTF and fire

I agree about WWB, it was what I could get cheap locally and it was brass. I have a M&P 9 FS with about 600 rounds of factory ammo through it(mostly speer lawman) and I am loving that pistol, no malfunctions ever. The trigger is really smoothing out on it too. I want to like my .45 as much.

    45 FS FTF and fire

About 300 rounds of factory ammo through my M&P .45. Like the feel and it shoots way better than me. I ran 2 100 boxes of WWB through the pistol and had 4 failures to feed in that time(various mags). I am now shooting Rem UMC target which is nice ammo. I had a failure to fire today, the round...
