    I believe that S&W Model 27 with the 3.5" or 5" barrels are some of the most sought after in this model along with hard to find Nickel finish.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback. @murphydog, you're correct it is a 45J prefix s/n, but there's only five-characters (45JXX), the last two being numerical, does this affect how you dated it? To confirm; it is a model 36 no dash, and a 3" tapered barrel. Thanks.
