I just picked up a 4" 686 no dash in very clean condition. I have been googling around, but I can't get more than maybe 1984 or 1985? The serial number is AJDxxxx.
It has a nice trigger but I have not yet had a chance to take it to the range and give it a workout.
Thanks,
H
I would agree. I have installed the DCAEK on a slightly older 9mm FS and a very recent 40C. I like the result quite a bit compared to the stock trigger. And I am not one to modify things (guns, trucks, etc.) just to modify things. I don't spend my money that way.
I have now done two DCAEKs, on a 9mm FS and a 40C. I had little trouble removing the rear sights on either with a tape covered brass punch. The brass punch did not like it much, but it worked well.
I got the new followers from S&W and they now load fine.
However, the only issue I really have with my M&Ps is having to really slam home the magazine if the slide is closed. A Glock mag slides right in with no effort. The M&P has to rammed in. I have had all my magazines loaded for months and...
I have a slightly older 9mm FS and a recently purchased 40C. I probably have 500 rounds through the 40C. While the 40C trigger stock is better than the 9mm stock, I did the DCAEK on the 9mm many months ago.
The grittiness is smoothing out in the 40C trigger, but is still not as smooth or as...
Sounds like they wanted you to buy their ammo.
I will be curious to hear if anyone comes up with any fact-based explanation on how their ammo might be more toxic than any other. I shoot it and it looks and shoots like any branded ammo.
My 40C, fire date 1/28/13, has a much improved reset, very tactile and audible, but does have a bit of a gritty feel. The grittiness is smoothing out with use and I suspect it will go away with more use. It is a nice trigger, I like it.
That must have been the same shipment as mine. I pick it up tomorrow from Turners and it has the same test fire date. I had the same I impression of the trigger, too. I hope to get to the range Tuesday. If I do, I will post a range report.
