5946 reassymbly Thank each of you that replied , especially Fastbolt, my hat is off for you. My other S-W autos are the DA/SA 06 models, I placed the spring under both levers. After I removed the spring on the right side, the 5946 reassembled as intended. I'm a retired 1911 and S-W revolver...

After reassembling my 5943, the hammer fails to cock. If I partially cocked the hammer, it will function one time, but fail to reset for another hammer cocking. The trigger bar fails to connect to the hammer/ sear assembly .{mag is inserted} Any advice, please.

    problem-reassymble s-w 5946

Regarding the 5946, I purchased it a few years ago from CDNN, it and a S-W 4053 were both NEW issued. Really proud of both.

    problem-reassymble s-w 5946

After assembly, the trigger pull fails to cock and fire the pistol. If I manually partial cock the hammer, the trigger will complete the hammer cock and fire. The trigger bar is failing to catch the hammer. Your help is appreciated. I'm not a novice, but this has me stumped.

    Model 5946 hammer spring replacement

Dependabilty is KING, but, can the hammer spring be reduced on a 5946 and retain reliable primer inition? It is my understanding that the 5906 has a different hammer spring than the 5906. Asking for your experience please.

    S&W 1911 pro series 9mm

Yes, they are worth the price, however, I prefer a 3953, or comparible, and a lot of ammo.

    Model 4566

IMHO the is not a better 45 ACP pistol. I have used the 4566 for years. I have other 45 ACP handguns, and others, and there are many very good handguns, just as good. I have found that the 4566 has been 100% reliable for me, and I trust it more than a good 1911. My 4566 sleeps beside me, an...
