I'm looking at a model 60 with a AYB555x serial number. Does anybody know what year gun this would be? My book does not list a AYB number. It also appears to be polished. Did Smith have factory polished Model 60's besides those very early examples from 1965-1966? Thank you.

What is used to fill the chips like photo #9 above. I've tried wood putty on furniture before but it never matches as good as his did.

I found a model 60 with the Missouri State Highway Patrol logo on the side plate. And MSHP above the trigger guard. I read where this was a 50 year anniversary 1931-1981. The gun is a 80% with no box. The owner wants $500 firm. My gut is that's a so-so price, and the Standard Catalog doesn't...

The butt of the gun had a ''C'' but I wasn't sure if it was part of the serial number because it was about 1 inch before the actual number. I thought the gun was cool because it had a 2 inch barrel and nickel. The diamond grips looked good, the nickel was getting a little blotchy and the hammer...

I found what I think is a pre model 10, serial number 125775. 2 inch barrel, K frame, half moon sight, square butt, diamond grips, 5 screw, nickel plated. It's a good shooter condition with some nickel blotting, priced at $275. What do you guys think? Thanks.
