I would also consider replacing the magazine springs, at least in the older mags. A slightly lighter recoil spring might also help - if - the recoil from round number 9 is not creating sufficient force to cock the hammer for round number 10.

The 39 is one of the all-time greatest handguns ever. I think you made a good trade, and I think you'll be very happy with your 39.

I actually just bought a 52-2 and its serial number is A1062XX. I posted on this forum about it just as you did, and was given the same answer. The standard Catalog says that the 52-2s started at A115000. I'm thinking they used up some older frames that were already forged and serialized, but...

Thanks for the responses guys. The serial number is all numerals except for the "A" prefix. It's a little bit of a mystery, I might just go ahead and get a letter for it, just to satisfy my curiosity.
