Shot a gun for the first time 3 weeks ago at age 60! Not convinced but getting better. Ilene

We have a .38 that was my dad's. My husband was just told, by the owner of our local gun shop, that this gun is probably pre 1900. Serial #272 390 and the logo is on the handle. May be too vague, but it's worth a try.
