It is the "DPS" model. Somewhere in its history, an action/Dehorn/reblue took place by whom it was issued to; hence the sideplate no longer has a hairline match up.

I only have one .40 S&W pistol, and it turned out to be a scarce one. The 4014 is same as the 4013 only black, and not many made. Its LNIB, I have only fired 2 mags thru it so far. (Check function) I bought it 3 yrs ago in the box with 2 mags, and have bought 6 more. Great little gun for carry.

I think the price is fair if LNIB. The idea that the price is too high in the present, is cheap in the future. I cannot remember how many $200 Model 28's and $300 dollar mod 27's and $150 Heavy Duty's I have passed on years ago, thinking they were too high at the time. I would rather pay $900...

Mod 27 No Dash, 4 screw 1959 or so. The 3.5" barrel has the look.

If ya ever get the Elmwood Wisconsin, Sailers Meats has the BEST I have ever had; and has the numerous awards associated with bacon. (I Never heard of a bacon contest...)Then again, any bacon is better than no bacon.

S&W rebound spring tool. A must have!

I prefer the N frame over the L frame. They "Fit my Mitt" better. Both have their merits and drawbacks. The 686 I had felt muzzle heavy.

I like Tabasco (Red Original) and go through several small bottles a year. Another I like is Scorned Woman. It tastes great on breakfast sausage. Any other good ones out there that can be recommended? I have a few others that the labels can't be put in print.

I only have 2 40's. A 4053 and 4014. I like them for what they are...a short(Single stack) compact firearm that is easy to carry and shoot. Prices are high....I saw a one and only S&W 3rd gen 4046 at a gun show and they were asking $650. Ya could get 2 EAA's for that price.

The last 17 I saw for sale around here was a 17-3 for $750 (Asking) I thought that was high, until I realized that it was gone an hour later. One way to look at it...next year it will be $795. If ya see one and ya like it, grab it.

I got mine at a gun show a few years ago. Right size, but heavy. Great gun.

I have one identical to yours. I fired a similar one that a friend owns that isn't ported. I can't tell the difference. They are one mean looking machine!

Only had a few new (NIB) guns. My 625-4, 4014 and 29-5 were all NIB. Note "WERE".

My Mod 27 (4 screw 1959 vintage) has a problem. When pulling the trigger, all is well for the first 5 shots. The last trigger pull doesn't rotate the cylinder, or cock the hammer. Trying to cock the hammer manually doesn't work either. Any suggestions?
