    Scoped Revolvers for Target Shooting?

My S&W is not scoped (I only have an M28 so far). I do run my Ruger Redhawk Hunter (.44 mag, 7.5 inch barrel) with a scope. It is fun to shoot it rested out to 100 yds.

Is there anything the model 28 Highway Patrolman can't do?

I have loaded up some Lyman 358429s and needed to crimp themover the forward drive band instead of the in the crimping groove.

    Reloading .380 Auto

Since I started using a Lyman powder-through M-die expander, I have not had that problem.

Found old .357 S&W w/Pachmayr grips in back yard.

I recommend Evapo-Rust soaks. It will take off the bluing that remains, but I see no point in trying to salvage that. Evapo-Rust will break down the rust without harming the healthy steel remaining underneath. It might take several soaks with carefull brass brush work in between, but you should...

I don't know about the "anything" part, but what mine does, it does very well, indeed.

    Reloading .380 Auto

I reload for .380 and at times finding brass is like looking for hen's teeth. At my range, I can usually recover 80% of my brass. The rest goes forward of the firing line and is lost to me. Save it. When you get to 500 or so, sell it. Or save it for that day when you reload in that cal.

    Forcing Cone Lead Removal

Quick and cheap: copper Chore Boy wrapped around an old bore brush. Use a magnet to make sure it's really copper, and not copper-washed steel. though.

The ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.including N frame ser# ranges

Thanks, leadlobber. I got those grips from CDNN for less than $40. I wishathe rest of the groups were that good! They're not bad, though. There's a good bit of holster wear, so the top of of my front sight is well polished nice and shiny. Next trip, I will blacken them with soot. Same for the...

The ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.including N frame ser# ranges

This is my first S&W firearm. I've had it to the range only once, so far, and just started to see what sorts of loads it like. The previous owner had a set of Pachmayr Grippers on it and I replaced those with Herrets in cocobolo as shown below. S/N: N591889 Shown is best group of the night...

    New Member and S&W Owner

Hi everyone. I recently bought a M28-2 and thought I'd join up here. I am active on the RugerForum.com and Cass Boolits boards. As I said, this is my first Smith. My other revolvers are Rugers. My first career was US Army as an infantryman and I finished up as the Bradley Master Gunner for...
