    Thinking of buying a 2" 357.....need advice

I tried a few Taurus revolvers and had the shop keep put 'em back in the case. I'm in dire financial straits these days and would still buy a Smith if I needed another revolver. There's always something you can sell on Craig's List, eBay or the local auction to get the cash. I just could not...

Spy photo: Ruger Polymer Framed Revolver

Uh...yeah... I'll stick with my 686+ snubby. It took a long time for me to get used to plastic pistols. Plastic revolvers? No way!

    686 variants

My 686 is the 686 Plus variant, a dash 8. I dislike the lock, but this baby's smooth. Right out of the box, the trigger was like old school Smiths and it's as accurate as one could want--all that in the 2 1/2" barrel size. I've had many snubbies and this is my favorite. Thinking of buying it...

Someone please stop me! (another smith in the collection)

No need to be stopped, my friend. What you have is not an affliction, it's a normal desire to own the very best in firepower. Fit, finish and quality, dontcha just love a Smith? We had a support group of sorts, too. That was back in the 1970s and 80s. We'd designate one day a month to gun...

Sell the thing--Sticky mag release on M&P 9c

I wouldn't under-rate the .357 Mag in a short barrel. I recently took the 2 1/2" 686+ and the M&P 9mm compact out for some good shootin' fun in Eastern Oregon. Found a pile of old wood lying on a mesa above the John Day River and set out to kick up some dust on that rattler infested real...

M&P 9 new buyer advice needed

I'd check the small piece that serves to hold the removable backstrap grip in place. It has a small plastic tab that fits into a detent. The tab is easily damaged.

Enclosed you'll find the 2 free magazines...

yippee! Finally got my free promotion mags! Now I have 4 for my M&P 9c. This is my "love-hate" gun. I love how it feels in my hand and its balance. I hate that tool in the grip-el cheapo, and then there's the sticky mag release button that stays disengaged unless you 'snap' it back into...

Yeah, my brother swears by his 3913. I'll check it out, thanks.

Sell the thing--Sticky mag release on M&P 9c

It sticks with each magazine I have for it, it sticks without a magazine and it sticks when stripped, slide off the frame and ditto with mags inserted on the stripped weapon. If it sticks when depressed, the mag will not re-insert and lock in place unless I slam it home smartly enough to make...

Sell the thing--Sticky mag release on M&P 9c

Dang! No help out there. I released the mag release button from the frame and carefully dressed any rough edges with a fine nail file. Then I swabbed out the button channel with a brass brush to clean up any burrs. It still sticks. Gonna send it to S&W. Too much plastic on this gun, like...

    S&W or Sig?

I have a S&W S&W 9c and like it, right now the mag release is sticking, so I'm holding off judgement until I get it resolved. I also have a Sig P-226 in 9mm. It's full sized, but man, I LOVE THIS GUN! When I bought it last year, I asked the shop guy if he had any P-226 law enforcement...

Sell the thing--Sticky mag release on M&P 9c

Has anyone else had a sticky mag release button on their Smith & Wesson Military & Police 9c? When I press the release button, it sticks and makes a clicking sound when I push on the other side before "snapping" audibly into place to lock the magazine in place. I'm going to put her in reserve...
