    357 Snubbie Defense Load

OCD1 Thanks, I can push the 135gr using Bullseye way faster, I had them pumped past 1185 (I could go more) but I don't need that speed for this bullet. This the the first load that I ever wanted to download cuz the bullet doesn't need HV. I went with what I have cuz I wanted low flash, good...

    357 Snubbie Defense Load

Semper Fi Brother. I manage a gun store in Kalispell, I'm currently wearing my Glock 17, a 640 and a 649. This summer behind my house I had 2Grizzlies, If I'm worried about bears, I carry a Mossberg 930 12ga. I've always had a love affair w/the J-Frame, I've owned many of them, I like the...

    357 Snubbie Defense Load

Wow, thanks guys for the feedback. I'm very happy with my results. I tried the slower powders and they gave too much flash. I know I could push the 135gr Gold Dots faster, but why? In my steel frames, these are not brutal at all and open up awesome. I also like shooting the heavier 158's, I...

    Most Reliable JHP

I fired Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P in my Glock 17 through 4 layers of wet denim into water. Velocity was 1184fps. Recovered Bullet was .795. It did not over penetrate. Nothing else I've tried even comes close!

Powder dispenser witch one to buy???

I have a uniflow and it is horribly inconsistant. I have heard good things about the perfect powder measure, so for 25 bucks, I'll give one a try. It can't be any worse than my uniflow.

    357 Snubbie Defense Load

I wanted to develop a load that would produce very low flash, as well as be easily controlable and get good expansion. The powders I had tried were Reddot, Unique, Bullseye, Bluedot and TruBlue. My results are as follows: My test gun is a Smith 640-3 Pro 2" Brl Speer Gold Dot 135gr Short...

    WTB: 640 - 357 OWB Holster

I bought a Galco Vertical shoulder holster and a SOB holster for my 640 and 649. I like them both, the SOB is comfortable while driving even though I can't hardly reach it. The VSH gives easy access while driving. The SOB is super easy to get to while walking/standing.

    need snubbie advice

The 638 is a great gun, the looks kind of grow on you. I went with the 640 Pro and the 649 cuz I wanted 357. They are a little heavier, but still managable. Couple things I did when mine were new was I dry fired mine about 600-700 times each. The double action triggers smoothed up big time. I...

    SP 101 vs. J/K frame

I was debating over the same thing, This month I bought a Smith 640 and a 649 in 357. I chose not to purchase the SP101 cuz it's heavier and not quite as refined. I love my 640. I handload so I'm shooting slightly reduced 357's, I can shoot 150 rounds at one sitting and feel no discomfort at...
