    My S&W snubs

The 36 is a much better shooter than the Airweight because the heavier steel makes it a more comfortable shooter. However, due to the nature of my work, the Airweight is easier to CC here in the humidity and heat. The wide mouth hollow points I load chamber in it better than they do in the 36.

    My S&W snubs

The Altamonts are great grips; comfortable and easy to control. I still keep the original grips for both guns. The Model 36 grips are original to the pistol so I keep them in the safe with the pistol. When target shooting the Airweight I go with the original rubber grips because they absorb much...

    My S&W snubs

My two snub nose revolvers by S&W. A 1966 made blued Model 36-1 and my frequent carry Model 642-1. Both reliable shooters but the 36-1 lives most of its life in the safe these past few years alongside my old 1958 Colt Detective Special

    Model 19-3 Nickel Finish

re: Looks exactly like the 19-4 I sold this summer in Alabama for $450.

    What reload?

re: Hotrod, he had told me that when he looked at a crime scene photo back in the 80's there had been a snub used in the shooting and that the bullet, a 158 gr. HP had exited the victim's body and went a further 5 or so feet and had not expanded any.

    What reload?

re: Thanks guys! I've been wanting to try to get a hold of the Keith bullet molds in 158 gr. but just haven't made the jump yet. I like using Lyman molds mostly but use Lee sometimes as well. I haven't loaded 125's in years but haven't done so because I also load for my Model 19's and I don't...

    What reload?

I know it's probably been discussed before but I'm late for the discussion. I want to find out what some of y'alls preferred reload is for use in a Model 36. For most of my 38's I've traditionally used 158 gr. LSW's, HP's or TMJ's over 4.3 grains of W231. I've experienced with a lot of powders...

How hot are Model 19's? Really Hot

I'll let my 19-4 go...!! I guess the gunshows are really getting out of hand now. I've got a factory nickel 4" barrel pinned and recessed cylinder 19-4 in very good condition I need to let go from its corner of the safe. Someone tell me what all I need to do to post in the for sale section as...

Value on a 15-4 suicide gun.

re: I have a Jap Nambu my late father traded a pint of whiskey for on Iwo Jima when his B29 had to do an emergency landing in 1945. The marine he got it from told dad he would have to overlook the metal pitting and the smell of the wood grips due to blood and decomposition of its previous...

    +P Ammo in a 38?

re: As for carrying it in a model 36, it generally isn't advisable unless it's a -7. For the most part, I would follow that rule as far as practicing with it. As for carrying +P's in it for self defense, I've known several people who keep their early 36's and Colt Detectives loaded with them...

    Old Ammo

re: When I was in the service using WWII 50. cal ammo was was commonplace. We also used 155mm munitions for our howitzers that was Korean War vintage...and that was only about 4 or 5 years ago before I retired.

    Snub nose reloads

I'm looking for suggestions for reloading ammunition for my S&w model 36 and for my Colt Detective. I've been loading 158gr LSW and 148gr LWC over W231 powder. These are also the same bullets I mold for target use for my model 19s. However, these 2 bullet types are what I've loaded my snubs with...

    Nickeled model 19-4

A couple of months ago I made a down payment on a factory nickeled model 19-4 with a 4 inch barrel. I now own this weapon which I have since discovered was a carry weapon by a LEO in Montgomery, Alabama. I have two questions for the knowledgeable members of this board: 1. This weapon came to me...
