    686 or 627

I got the 627 Pro yesterday. I haven't shot it yet but I like the way it feels in my hand. Overall it feels similar to the size of the 686 but with a wider cylinder. There's a small scuff mark on the front part of the lug. Not a big deal but it's annoying to find that on a new gun. Is that...

Just Bought my Model 617 .22 6" 10 round after 3 months on wishlist it came in!!

I have a 617 with a 6" barrel. At first I wanted the 4" but my gunshop only had the 6". It looked like it might be tough to get a 4" in so I went with the 6". I'm happy with it. It is a little muzzle heavy with the full lug but it's fine for me. I figure it's good training for my arms. :)...

Thanks for the pics everybody. They helped me. I want the 627 pro now. It looks like the cylinder is just a little wider.

    686 or 627

I thought I had my decision made on my next gun but now I'm not sure. I wanted a 686+ 4". I've shot it before and thought it was great. I have a 617 which is the same frame and they would complement each other. But then I read about the 627 which is a little bigger and 8 shot. The standard...

    Hello from PA

I live in SE Pennsylvania. I got started on guns this year for self defense and now I'm hooked. I started out on a semi automatic but now I find I'm drawn to revolvers. There's something about them. I really enjoy shooting them. So now I have 2 S&W revolvers. A 442 and 617. Both are great...
