The ultimate 3" picture thread. More three inch madness.

Here's my M547 which Mr. Jinks letter says it is part of the the pilot run of 1980. There were about 40 made with the 3" barrell out of a total of 140 in the run. The s/n is 5D590XX.

    Model 29-2 with 4" barrel -rare ?????????

To me, the balance of the 4" M29 is more natural. My Pre29 4 Screw with Cokes just seems to meld to my hand and is so easy to shoot even with heavy loads.

    How good are the 686-5?

Here's my M686-5 Mountain Gun. I like the light weight and 7 shot capacity. Shoots real accurate with all loads.

    Older S&W long guns

696 worries... real or no problem?

The 696 is a great gun. Seems if there was a forcing cone issue you'd see more of these models up for sale. Used as intended you won't have any problems.

Price check on a Model 631

At $650 it's a bargain. The M631 is one of the most sought after 32 there is. Better get it before someone else does.

    M547 price question?

Manny, I found this one at a show about 5 years ago. A guy was trying to sell it to a dealer friend who wasn't interested and I just happened to be standing there. We struck up a conversation and made a deal. Frankly, I had no knowledge of the piece at the time. Sometimes you get lucky.
