M&P 9 FS Apex USB Only?

Your trigger will likely smooth out with time, I know mine did. When I recently did my apex duty/carry kit, I did not install the USB (there was just no need IMO). But if you want to, you absolutely could install the USB without the other parts. I don't think it would lighten the trigger pull...

    Sight recommendation for a M&P 45

I would look at warren tactical. I personally like the blacked out rears and the nice front dot to capture the eye focus. I have their two dot night sights and really like them (but you don't have to do night sights if your not interested in that)

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

Thanks for the help everyone. Just thought I would give a follow up for everyone (or anyone else searching in the future). I ended up getting the DCAEK kit....though I did not install the entire kit. I installed the sear that came with it, and I installed the stronger trigger spring. It did...

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

Reducing take up is not an absolute requirement. Reducing the break is the biggest thing I want. Reducing the take up would be a _nice to have_. But if the DCAEK is what makes sense for a carry gun, that sounds like the way I should go. I have one of the newer M&P's with a really nice reset...

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

Great information, this is exactly what I was hoping to get. So do you think the "Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit" would accomplish my goals? What would the FSS give me that the "Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit" would not?

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

Thanks for your reply. I still have some questions. I thought the wall you hit before the break was caused by the striker spring? Is that not the case? That's why I thought a striker spring would help make that wall not quite so hard. If that's not the case, why does apex replace that...

Advice on how to achieve some specific trigger modifications

I have an M&P 9c. After several thousand rounds, I have decided I think I would like to change a couple aspects of the trigger. Although from what I have read, what I want to change sounds different from most people. After thousands of rounds, and even more dry fire practice, I have no issues...

Which cartridges do you actually carry?

9mm is my every day carry, I think the extra ammo capacity in a small package is a good fit for every day carry. .45 acp when I am in the mountains...Mostly because I open carry then, and don't feel I need as small of a gun.

    Aftermarket sights

Warren tactical tritum sights for me...here is another users post with photos about these sights: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-pistols/224912-installed-warren-tactical-night-sights-my-new-m-pc.html Mine are exactly the same, except the rear sight has no white outline (still has...

    Night Sights on Handguns

I take a bit of a different view on night sights. I have two dot night sights, with a plain back (warren tactical, very happy with them). It's not that I see myself being in a situation where I will have to absolutely rely on night sights. They are only an aid in low light conditions. Having...

    My first M&P

I would recommend going the compact route, it will be easier and more comftrable. The biggest reason someone stops carrying is because of either comfort, or it limits what they can wear (ie too difficult). The big issue you will find with the full size will be the longer grip. I find it very...

    Clean after X rounds

I might be a bit lazier than some of the others here. I shoot at least once every two weeks, and an average range trip is only around 100 rounds. I feel like cleaning it every week is a bit excessive, so I typically end up cleaning it about ever 2 trips (so about every 200 to 400 rounds I...

How do you handle these situations?

To answer your question, I do carry concealed IWB even while sitting on the couch and relaxing. If someone comes to the door, or I need to go outside for any spontanious reason, I don't want to have to conceal first. So it's not that I am concealing from the people in my home, but rather to be...

How do you handle these situations?

It has been said a couple times before, but I will say it again. I just CC inside my home as well. I think the chances of someone trying to break in during the day are rather unlikely. But concleaded carry is always the most flexible option, being discreet while being close and ready.

    What about insurance for after...?

I have been looking at these and doing a fair amount of research. Here are some things I have learned: As far as the CCW specific ones, CCWSafe and Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network, Inc. seem to be the better sounding ones. Although I like the benefits and price they list out on...
