A 639 was the first “early” Smith semi-auto I bought. I was cleaning it at my kitchen table 30 minutes after it was listed on our local forum. Even with Pachmayr grips, I wanted to grab it before anyone else noticed it. I have also put away an ANIB 439 and a 539.

IIRC, it was BMCM who recommended a crazy-expensive Dow lubricant to be used just in that one area. I’ve followed his advice.

What have you got there? Something I would buy immediately. :D

Finding the D was very difficult for me. Still looking for a black D. The TDA versions are slightly easier to find. I’ve got one I may sell this summer.
