I completely agree with @Law-dog The laser grips have made me a better shooter. One trip to the range and seeing the laser bouncing around in between shots really helped me focus and dial in my followup shots. Plus in the evening with low light, the laser comes in handy. I know they are pricey...
My humble opinion is to carry the one without the lock in your pocket. Also consider bobbing the hammer. At the end of the day if you are ever called upon to defend your life, those 2 things I just mentioned can cause catastrophic failure.
A gun that is cleaned and oiled and kept in a pocket...
I just picked up today a brand new JFrame 642 Pro Series. I have a no lock 442 and a 642 with lock. Both have been flawless but I always preferred the look of the satin and I didn’t like looking at that blasted lock! I inspected it at my LGS and it also dry fired ok but man the gun just looked...
Ok holster arrived yesterday and here go my honest thoughts:
1. I really like it so far! The gun does stick out slightly but after playing around with the adjustment straps, I tamed it. It doesn’t help I have a beer gut so I need to drop a few kilos AFTER the holidays <wink>

any opinions for my 4 inch Maggie?
Love my no lock 442!

I pocket carry a no lock 442 with crimson trace grips that have had the batteries removed. The laser jumped around too much and for close quarters I just didn’t think it was necessary. The grip does, however, absorb tons of recoil and allows me to focus when at the range. It also added about a...
Hi everyone. Long time lurker and first time posting! May I ask what benefits the 640 offers over a smaller lighter 442/642 jframe? I know the 640 has better sights and can shoot .357 but realistically it’s heavier and most will only carry and shoot with 38+P.
