Why no love for the S&W 1911 here?

Have one of the first scandium 1911's to come out. Great gun. It's wearing a Kimber .22 conversion top side right now and shoots just fine. The only 1911 I like better is my martially marked Remington Rand from WWII, but I don't shoot that one much as it's as old as I am. Hell of a shooter...

    44 Magnum Cokes Bottles?

Look like the grips on mine which I purchased in the early 1980's, new. Came in an oak? diplay box which I still have somewhere. Good shooter. Killed a few deer with it.

Best gun for new female shooter

As an NRA certified instructor I have assisted in the training for CCW here and would advise a double/single action revolver for new shooters. Go with a caliber that the shooter can deal with and shoot accurately.

My first Combat Magnum (pre 19)...and its FACTORY engraved! (now with LETTER)

It's a beauty! Not a fan of engraved weapons, but yours is, indeed, special. I have an old 19 4inch I bought in 1975, my first handgun. It is very special to me as I once killed a mountain lion with it. I always thought that the 4 inch 19 was considered the "combat magnum". But then even though...

    H.E. 2nd Model X3 Welcome to California

I have a Canadian marked .455 military that was converted to .45 colt. Just a shooter. Not in that good a condition cosmetically but shoots well. Whoever converted it screwed up and the hand drags on the cartridge rims requiring them to be slightly beveled around the edges. So I beveled a...

    M&P9c VS Shield 9

Have a S&W 1911 alloy with 4" barrel that is a good carry gun but have a Kimber Solo 9mm that is excellent for warm weather clothing carry. Very reliable, after a trip back to Kimber to fix its choking problems and has an excellent trigger and accuracy for such a tiny gun.

    The early K-22's

Have an 8 3/8 inch 17 with target hammer, target trgger and target grips that I picked up at a gun show 30+ years ago. Shoots like a rifle. Great guns.

    BEST Concealed Carry Revolver

The model 19 4" if I am going to carry a revolver, concealed with boot grips, or not concealed. Open carry is ok here in WY, though I prefer concealed. The 19 is a good compromise between power and size with excellent accuracy not available in a snubby. It is the first handgun I ever bought way...

Wanted to Share My New Custom Glock 19

"Pretty Glock" Like an ugly girl with a great personality, the Glock wins its way into your heart and can become your best friend. I originally made fun of the Matel Toy guns and now I have 3 Glocks and use my 34 more than even my custom, tricked out 1911, an extemely accurate and reliable...

    S&W 25-15

Have one. Love it, but shoot an old Canadian hand ejector martially marked rebore in .45 colt with mild (cowboy loads) more often to save on wear on the model 25. Both are great guns.

What rifle caliber do you guys prefer...

Favorite rifle Bought a BLR light weight in .308 last year and as usual my newest gun is my favorite. Killed a cow elk with one shot at 400 yds on the range finder day before yesterday with it. It only went 50 yds after the shot but then slid another 100 yds down into a deep draw, bad luck. Got...

What is your favorite deer load in the M&P 15?

.223 For Deer The whitetails here at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, at least the ones in my back yard, are small and I shoot one or two each year. Seems fair since they eat my bushes and rub on my trees. Wyoming has legalized the .223 (60 gr bullet min.) for deer and I will shoot one this...

    .45 Super Loads for 22-4?

SW vs Colt Mod 1917 Information I have seen would indicate that the first 30,000 or so of the Colt Mod 1917's were bored straight through out of about 150,000. I have one that has shoulders in the chambers. Much more comfortable to shoot than my 22-4. Bigger grip. Anyone with a recommendation...

    Mod:25-5

Guss, Shot mine off bags at 25 yds. 1.5"-2" groups with 250 gr bullets. 3" groups with 200 grainers. Not noticing any of the problems noted above re accuracy. Will be interested on how yours shoots. Jim G
