    Bekeart Front Sights

James, thank you for sharing that information. I recently purchased my Bekeart and will PM you at some point with the SN on the gun and number on the grip.

    Bekeart Front Sights

Richard, thanks for that clarification. I suppose I never considered some guns were shipped in a particular configuration, but were changed AFTER delivery. So, that confirms that some early guns (1911) did have the patridge front sights. But, does that affect the gun's value, given it is unknown...

    Bekeart Front Sights

Richard, to make sure I understand, your gun has a Sheard front sight, but your factory letter states it was shipped with a patridge front sight? Being the novice I am, I didn't understand. Sorry!

    Bekeart Front Sights

Thank you all for the replies. I realize that anything was possible for a price, but in 1911 I suspect most of these awesome revolvers were mass produced with standard features and only a very small number were custom ordered. But, never say never. I'll submit my gun for a Letter of Authenticity...

    Bekeart Front Sights

I have a question regarding the front sights on the S&W .22/.32 HFT Bekeart model revolvers. Did all of those manufactured in 1911 (or the first 1,000 run) come with the Paine Bead front sight? Or have any variations been noted with the Patridge front sight? I appreciate any knowledge you...

WTB Paine Bead Front Sight For Bekeart .22/.32

All, I'm looking for an original Paine Bead front sight for my S&W .22/.32 Bekeart. Let me know if you have one or know where I can find one. Thanks!

    Bekeart models and .22/32 HFT's

Everyone, your feedback has been so helpful. I think I am beginning to better understand SOME of this, but I will continue my education. I did want to ask one question however. Was it unusual my revolver returned to the factory for some sort of repair (as evidenced by the date stamp), but the...

    Bekeart models and .22/32 HFT's

Thank you both for further educating me. I have taken pictures of the SNs on the inner left frame, front strap and under the barrel. As you can see, on the inner left frame the date 2.16 (February 1916) appears, so perhaps my revolver was returned to S&W to be re-blued? Other than the "B" on...

    Bekeart models and .22/32 HFT's

I recently acquired my first .22 HFT (but hopefully, not my last as I continue to actively search). Here are the specifics for your database. The revolver is SN 220413, all matching except the right inner stock which is not numbered. I do believe the stocks to be original despite this. No...

    WTB S&W .22/.32 Bekeart HFT

I am interested in buying a Bekeart .22/.32 HFT revolver. My preference is a true Bekeart (SN 138225 to 139275) or one of the first 3,000 manufactured, but would consider any model between 1911-1915. I'd like an original gun, numbers matching, in very good to excellent condition. A factory...

    Bekeart Question

Okay, that is logical and a good learning since I'm new to collecting. On a somewhat related note, how is a gun's value affected if all metal numbers match but the grips are correct but either don't match or are un-numbered? I have a lot to learn in order to not overpay!
