I finally got an email back from Smith suggesting that the wear was not typical and they asked me to send the gun for inspection. Sadly they said its about an 8 week turnaround. I guess that will give time for my new Mika pocket holster to come in. What is the finish on this gun?

I had the same damage to my hand after shooting some 357's. It took about 2 weeks to heal and its still a little chewed up. I couldn't believe how much more recoil there was between the 38 spc and the 357. Some how I managed to tuff out an entire cylinder worth. :D

I tried cleaning tonight and no use. Seems like the finish wore off the cylinder. I checked with the holster I'm using, its a mitch rosen express line that I got from the crimson trace website and it rubs right in that spot. Seems odd though that a leather holster would take the finish off...

Hi All, So I got an M&P 340 wore it to the range once and already notice some wear on the cylinder. Wondering if that is normal or not? This is my first revolver.

I purchased an M&P 340 yesterday, can't wait to shoot it. Mine can in a cardboard box, I see some photos with a hard blue case? Which should the gun have come in?
