    WTB Bullseye Centerfire Pistol

I don't have the money for a Rock River Arms (even if they made them again) 1911 so I'm looking for something used, but not abused for our outdoor bullseye league. A beater S&W 52, 1911 parts gun, even a model 25 would get me to the line. I do have some trading stock, mostly military rifles and...

Finally got one ! An accurate 45 !

After buying a half dozen 1917/Brazilian models I finally got one that shoots! First time out I get all five rounds in a nice tight group and at point of aim. Life is good !

    Tell me about it....

Thanks for the info. For the price I paid for it a 45 conversion would not upset me too much. I can always use it for trading fodder. Besides, I never met an N frame I didn't like.

    Tell me about it....

I have a 1917 model coming in purchased off the internet. SN is 22320. There are a lot of British proofs on it, it has a 6 1/2" barrel. No US markings except for the crossed flags. My question is were the US markings polished off or is it possible this was a converted 455 ? TIA...Joe

    Brit or Canadian 455 ?

My 455 Ely Hand Ejector SN 5907 is proof marked with what looks like a crown over a number (119?)over an E over an II. I've been told this gun was: A. Issued to RCMP B. Canadian Army C. British Army short of writing a letter to S&W can anyone tell me for sure ? TIA...Joe

    Double action only revolver ?

I just recieved a S&W in 455 that was sold to Canada made about 1915. It operates only in double action. Is it possible that this is how it was shipped or did I buy a screwed up gun? I know some Webleys were DAO and I just want to make sure before I send a note to the seller. TIA...Joe

    455 to 45 acp conversions

I've heard that revolvers converted from 455 to 45 acp are not accurate. Since there are so many out there I find this hard to believe. Anyone with first hand knowledge care to comment ?

    New service in 455

Thanks for the info ! I think I said New Service because my local dealer has one in 455 at a price above my limit for Colts. Pictures of soon to be mine at http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=79064620 Obviously it is not a pristine example, but, hey, the price was right! Thanks again !!!

    New service in 455

I'm in the process of obtaining a New Service Smith in 455. It has British proofs and has not been modified to 45 ACP. My question is how many were sold to the Brits ? It was made in 1915. TIA...Joe
