    Terrier purpose vs .38 special

Q: How many S&W fans does it take to change a lightbulb? A: 3 It actually only takes one. The other two just hang around talking about how much better the old one was.

    27-2 BBL??

If the barrel had been shortened for forcing cone repair, the ejector rod lug/housing would look too short, wouldn't it?

    Gun price complaints

Around 1900 a new Colt SAA could be had for an ounce of gold (about $25). The price of one today is right at one ounce of gold (about $2,500). The prices have not gone up. We just use more zeros today.

    Pod coffee machines

I gave up on coffee makers. Now I buy cold brewed cold coffee from the chill box at the grocery store. In the morning, pour a cup and microwave it two minutes. Costs about $0.75 per cup. Each cup as fresh as from a new brewed pot.

    My new favorite piece...

If you put one of those gloves on your foot it would look like your hand and nobody would have noticed. Oh, and the revolver is nice.

    Ammo Sale Scam?

It costs a lot to maintain the flux capacitor on the Delorean. $120 isn't so much to pay to get the ammo before you order it. Ultra fast shipping costs money.

What was the inspiration for your Username?

Well, my first name, now and for the last 71 years, is and has been John. For convenience sake I decided to use it instead of coming up with a new one. There are many, many John's in this world. After much careful thought and consideration, I decided to use my geographic location to...

A Pungent Reminder I DON'T Live On the Coast Any More

We went to the 1993 Merlefest in Wilkesboro. Camped out on their airfield runway campground. When the wind came from the direction of the (Tyson?) chicken processing plant you'd cry for joy if a skunk could cover up that smell. Not all the aromas of inland North Carolina are natural. But the...

Poor Man’s Collection, Part Deux ( a decade later......)

Well. There are nickel versions and stainless steel. There are 2" and 6" barrels. There are round and square butt versions. Knock off the self congratulations, Mister. You're just getting started. Get hot!

    R.I.P. Bob Newhart

That's how I wanna go! With half the crowd not knowing I'm gone and composing heartfelt goodbye sentiments, and the other half feeling smug 'cause they knew it all along. Bob would be amused.
