Miculek Wins 2013 IDPA OVERALL With His Revolver?

He won High Overall with his revolver, also beating the semiautos, for the 2013 National BUG match: IDPA - Event Details - Inaugural Smith & Wesson IDPA National Back Up Gun Match I believe all strings were 5 shot maximum (no reloads on the clock).

    just got a 5946!!

bunch of videos on teardown, action job, reassembly, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17v7fo6oe_c You also can get the 2.5 lb trigger/drawbar return spring and 16 lb hammer spring from Wolff. I suggest clipping a few coils from the Wolff 16 lb hammer spring..I've done so and still get...

Acquired a 5906 Police trade in

I clipped a few coils off the Wolff 16 lb (reduced power) hammer spring and still get 100% ignition in my 5946, with a light trigger pull. You can also replace the drawbar/trigger return spring, with a 2.5 lb spring however this requires full disassembly. This excellent video gives a idea on...

    5946 with KNC prefix?

Been tinkering with a 5946 that recently came my way. I like how it is shooting after doing a trigger job. It is kind of like shooting a striker fired gun, (same trigger pull all the time, no decocker or safeties) but with the added bonus of being steel, not plastic. Anybody else have any...

627 shooters- what brand, thickness of moonclips do you use?

TK Custom moonclips, the ones specially made for Starline brass, to fit the Starline groove. I use Starline .38 Short Colt Brass. Welcome to TK Custom.com & Moonclips.com Very snug fit, makes for fast reloads, especially with Short Colt brass.

    Please educate me on 627 38super, 38sc or 9mm

Shooting the 8-shot 627 for USPSA is a hoot. You don't necessarily need to use anything other than 38 SPL, however, you may find better results reloading on the clock with the shorter cartridges in moon clips (less risk of screwing up the reload with the short cartridges). I use .38 Short Colt...

    Safariland Comp III loader

Bubberize if you really want to get those Comp-III's running fast. Comp-iii Modification - Revolver Forum - Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo! That's what I did and I find it useful...seems they "launch" cleaner, and clear the gun better after they are empty. John

Recommend grips for M15 square butt

I run the JM stocks on my square butt M67 and M19 for IDPA. Best stocks I've found for a fast draw, and quick manipulation & reloading. John M

    629 Won Again Today

I saw those pink bullets for the first time in May in person. A guy I know from Tennessee said those pink bullets (Falcon Bullet Company?) work good...even if they look like lipstick! Thanks

    Mags for a Mdl 59

I just ordered a bunch from Numrich, Mec-Gar aftermarket variety for 59XX pistols. I think Brownells and Midway have them as well.

    2014 Revolver Nationals

I haven't done much experimenting with other loads in 38 Short Colt, but there's some detailed loads reported over at the Revo-nation forum .38 - Revo-Nation.com As far as Pro Series v.s. PC, the PC did not seem worth the extra money for 1" of barrel length, which is the main difference. But...

    2014 Revolver Nationals

    1) Yes, I'm using .357 diameter (.38 cal bullets) 2) There are special Hearthco moonclips that TK Custom makes to fit Starline brass. These seem to work the best, because the Starline brass have a relatively wide groove where the clips go, so the clips can be thicker (hold the brass better, and...

    2014 Revolver Nationals

Yes, easy to make 125 Power Factor. I ran 160gr Bayou Bullets under 3.7 grains Unique, at an OAL of 1.20. Empty cases will drop right out with that load, so it seems quite low pressure. Certainly no safety issue in a 627. But that load cuts it kind of too close for comfort (I barely made it...

    PPC holster thoughts?

In full disclosure, I've never shot a PPC match, but I'm getting ready to shoot one next month, so I've been perusing the rules and courses of fire. I personally see little benefit in a "race" holster for the PPC game, given the very generous "par times" you get to shoot each course of...
