57 here. I carried a J-frame for more years than I can remember. The last few years I have been carrying a 1911. But, there are days when my J-frame comes out with me.
Very nice. And, to me, the best part is that you said you will carry it! I bought one way back in 1990 that had some wear. Never did anything with it for years - it just sat in the safe. The last year or so I have had it out - my wife has been using it at our club's BUG (back up gun)...
Very nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I have had a 66-1 6" that sat in the safe for years. Two years ago my wife finally started shooting. Right off the bat she loved the way the 66 felt in her hand. She had no desire to shoot one of the plastic guns (her words) - so the 66 is her toy...
I used to put stickers on my cars/trucks in the 1980s and 1990s, then stopped for a bunch of years.
Last year I went back to putting NRA Life Member stickers back on.
Everyone who posted does have valid points - it's hard to tell what is best.
I just bought a Gransfors Burk splitting hatchet - and am thrilled with it. Been heating with wood for 25+ years and I thought it was time for a new hatchet.
You also can't go wrong with a Wetterlings either.
For a lot less $$$ Husqvarna sells a nice group of axes and hatchets.
check out coinflation.com to look up the 'value' of the base metals used in coins - such as copper pennies and silver coins. there are folks hoarding wheat cents as well as copper cents. I remember when they changed half dollars, quarters and dimes in 65 removing silver. everyone checked...
