    New Kuracs and new 629-1

Looks like a great buy to me. LGS has a 629-1 with black rubber grips for $999. I mean the black rubber grips are a lot nicer than your Kuracs and all but................

    Highway Patrolman

LGS has 28, unsure of dash, 4", but it is pretty rough and has hogue rubber stocks. He is asking $599 and I could probably get it for less but I just can't warm up to it, being as rough as it is. Unless you guys tell me it is worth $750 the way it is, which I doubt, I will continue to pass

    What & When your 1st. S&W

Kind of a funny story. My first Smith was a model 1000 shotgun in 1974 when I was 16. So Smith is famous for revolvers and I have their shotgun. My hunting rifle that same year was an Ithaca 30-06. Ithaca of course known for shotguns. I'm still a non-conformist.

66-4 Lew Horton vs 66-6 Performance Center

A buddy got a hold of the 66-4 LH pre-lock which is additionally a Perf Center. It is the 3" with the ported barrel. Nice gun that I have wanted. I ended up finding a 66-6 3" Perf Center non LH with port a few years ago. It is a lock. He has found something he wants worse and will sell me the...

Roger on the .22. I remember the days when they used to make stuff called .22 long rifle. It was a cheap and fun way to shoot. The lack of ammo does kind of move the 617 to the bottom of the list. Sad deal. I did hear that they are still making 22 LR but you just can't prove it.

Thanks for the help and opinions I really appreciate that. I guess I will keep the MG on layaway and if the others are still there months from now when MG is paid off I may put the 586 on layaway next.

Thank you for the fast reply. The 617 is 6", I meant to say that. I actually did put the mountain gun on layaway, then started to doubt myself, so thought I would ask for opinions. Thanks again. Jb

LGS has 3 that are all intriguing for different reasons. Just wondering what you guys think as far as current values and as far as future price appreciation. All are used but in nice condition. All are close to $700. All have lock. First is pretty nice 29-8 4" Mountain Gun Outfitter edition...

    WTK: Values On 586/686 Revolvers

I have seen a few of each out here lately for $500. Long barrel is a matter of taste I guess, and could go either way on value. I personally like the longer ones. They always remind me the Dirty Harry look.

Price guidance on Lew Horton 629 3"

Seems like people are asking about $600 for regular 29's lately, so a limited ed. Lew would have to be worth more than that. I vote "for"

Went to a gunshow in Topeka today...

Sounds like a great day to me. Got me fired up, we have a show coming in 2 weeks. Hope it is as good as yours.

How good of a deal did i get on this gun?

I am going with the other guys, and thinking it is closer to $500. I recently paid $425 for one in good average shape, with no holster or ammo, and thought I did OK.
