I've been researching to discover the difference btw the 642 and the 642 LS (.38 spl) but have learned little. The diffferences I've discovered: the LS is about 0.5 oz lighter and comes with wooden grips. From online photos it appears the grip on the LS is a bit narrower. Does anyone have...

Yes, I see the 464### on the left side. The assembly number does make sense now. Like the VIN of a vehicle and its motor match. Also on botom of grip frame is the serial number. Thanks!
