I just bought a PC 642-2 Enhanced Action, and the thing that impressed me most about the trigger pull was that it was absolutely CONSTANT throughout the entire length of trigger travel-- no stacking, "humps", bumps, etc. For me, this affects my ability to maintain a nice steady sight picture...
Many thanks, but now I've got to ask: what is the difference between the two types of checkering. Sorry for all the questions. My snubbie is pictured above: a 1946 with post-'52 stocks. I would like to get hold of the exactly correct originals that went with that 1946 model.

Try "Full Nelson" from Blue Mountain Brewery not far from Nellysford. You'll be glad you did. It is quite hoppy with a kind of grapefruit finish typical of Cascade hops.
These smiths seem to be talented people. I'd like to see them do the kinds of jobs that "ordinary" users talk about all the time. For example, how would they modify a 1911 for competition? Then, film some fancy machining and welding. There's a big TV market out there for seeing how real tool...
